📌 Please check before bringing food for residents during visits

Please note the following restrictions on food and snacks brought in during visits.

We are setting out the restricted items once again and ask for families’ cooperation for the safety of our residents.

※ Restricted foods: items that stick in the mouth or oesophagus, or that carry a high risk of blocking the airway when swallowed.

— Most rice cakes: injeolmi, sirutteok, chaltteok and the like (risk of airway obstruction)

— Small round fruits: grapes, cherry tomatoes, shine muscat and the like (risk of airway obstruction)

— Raw foods (sashimi, raw beef and so on), cold foods, cold fruit and cold drinks (risk of causing diarrhoea)

※ Foods that are safe to bring: soft items such as castella, soy milk and yoghurt.

Even foods a resident used to enjoy and eat easily can now pose a high risk of choking, because ageing reduces the function of the muscles around the airway and the condition of the teeth, markedly weakening chewing, swallowing and digestion.

Airway obstruction can be life-threatening, and so we ask for your cooperation.
